MANGO TREE CENTRE PRAYER LETTER

Mango Tree Centre Prayer Letter (September 2017)

God provided us a very big smile in this year again.

(Disability Sports Special Week)
This year, Bridget, who is a specialist in disabled physical education, visited our centre and held a special sports program for people with disabilities from 22 to 24 August. During the 3 days, we held various sport events such as baseball, soccer, basketball, volleyball and table tennis, specialized for people with disabilities.

During those days, we really enjoyed fellowship and sports games and ate together. Thanks to God for His provision of cheerful volunteers, yummy food, and wonderful weather for us.

Praise the Lord, who sincerely answers our prayers.

(#1 Answer: Regular Sunday afternoon worship service started at Mango Tree Centre)
August 27 was a special Sunday for us. This is because, for the first time, we had our very own service at the Mango Tree Centre with 19 of our people with disabilities through God’s grace and guidance

It had been very sad to see some of the disabled people finding it difficult to go to church. But now, we can freely enjoy worshipping and giving praise to God at our Mango Tree Centre. If there is one thing that is regrettable, it’s that we can only transport three wheelchair users in our van at a time. We’d like to bring more people and I believe God will provide a solution for this as well.
We have worship service at the centre every Sunday at 4pm, and have fellowship with food after the service. We invite you to pray for our service so that people with disabilities can listen to the hope of Gospel and form an intimate relationship with God.
Please pray so that God will provide a worship leader, driver, cook and Sunday school teacher.

(#2 Answer: Daily Respite Care program children with disabilities started from September)
We have been able to daily care after children with disabilities who are left at home due to their parents working. In our April newsletter, we introduced Tevita’s family and requested prayer to start a daily respite care service, and thankfully God answered by providing necessary funds for the operation.
When the disabled children come to our centre, they go through rehabilitation treatment during the morning and eat lunch afterwards. In the afternoon, they have time to rest or play in the safe place. Then they are returned to their homes. Please pray for God to provide continually cheerful helping hands and necessary funds for the service.

Missionary news and prayer requests

1. Jeong-Seok and I visited Oklahoma and Los Angeles from mid-June to August to introduce our ministry and request prayer. We thank God for giving us the opportunity to introduce our ministry, and would like to thank the Oklahoma District NMI and Nazarene churches in the district, Korean Nazarene Church Association, and Korean Nazarene churches in Los Angeles for their help and financial support during our time there.

2. Please pray for the health of our family. Especially Paul, Dorothy (our daughter-in-law), Yooha (our granddaughter), Maria and our youngest David for their spiritual and physical health.

3. Our staff Lofi is visiting Hamilton in New Zealand from September 15 to October 3 to receive wheelchair workshop training. Luva who was resting after her surgery has returned to the centre. Please pray for Lofi’s safe travel and Luva’s health.

In-Kwon and Jeong-Seok Kim
